Melissa Ambrosini & Nick Broadhurst

There are couples, and then there are power couples. Melissa Ambrosini and Nick Broadhurst could only be described as the latter, having both gained huge success individually and as a pair.

Melissa is a bestselling author, number one podcast host and motivational speaker, while Nick is a successful singer-songwriter and top-rated podcast host. The pair loves Boody and share our eco-friendly values in everything they do and represent.

We caught up with the dynamic duo to discover more about their journeys, as well as what their favourite Boody basics are.

Melissa Ambrosini

Melissa, you're the bestselling author of Mastering Your Mean Girl and Open Wide. Talk to us a bit about what the books are about and what inspired you to write them.

Mastering Your Mean Girl is about that negative, fear-based voice inside your head that says you can’t do something. She is the reason you haven’t gone after your dreams. She's the voice that says you’re not good enough, pretty enough, smart enough, you will never meet the guy, get out of debt or heal.

She is the doubt, the ego, the fear and justifier – everything negative that stops you from living the epic life you’ve always imagined. Mastering Your Mean Girl teaches you how to master that voice inside your head and live your dream life.

Open Wide is the must-have love, sex and relationship guide for the modern woman. Want to call in your soulmate? Take your relationship to the next level? Experience mind-blowing and deeply soulful sex? Open Wide will show you how. Packed with deeply personal stories, useful tools, and genuine ‘aha’ moments, Open Wide will help you upgrade and enrich ALL the relationships in your life — including the most important one of all, the one with yourself.

I wrote both my books because I had to share everything that was bubbling away inside me. I needed to create a book that had everything I had learned to tell others along their journey.

You're also the host of number one podcast The Melissa Ambrosini Show. What should first-time listeners expect from the show?

Each week I share inspiring interviews from thought leaders and experts from around the globe on the topics of health, wellness, entrepreneurship, conscious living, mindfulness, love, self-love, conscious parenting, relationships and more, to help you unlock your full potential and live your best life.

Some of my previous guests include Samantha Wills, Marie Forleo, Marianne Williamson, Anita Moorjani, Elena Brower, Carrie-Anne Moss, Gretchin Rubin, Dave Asprey, Dr. John Demartini, Danielle LaPorte and Bhava Ram to name a few.

It’s so much fun and jam-packed full of inspiration to click here to listen now or head to your podcast add and hit subscribe.

As a motivational speaker and self-love teacher, what are your key messages and how do you inspire others to live their dreams and life on their own terms?

Biggest key message

My biggest key message is that everyone CAN live the life of their dreams. I inspire others to do that by firstly being the example of my teaching. I walk my talk and I share my message via books, speaking events, my podcast and social media.

Nick, we're big fans of your music here at Boody. When did you begin songwriting?

Thank you! That means a lot to me. I grew up playing jazz and doing a lot of improvisation, which I guess you could say is a form of spontaneous songwriting, but it wasn’t until I picked up the guitar when I was 15 that I found my singing voice. Most of my early songs were about heartbreak because girls were the centre of my world as a teenager. Actually, most of my songs are now about my wife, so I guess not much has changed.

Your debut album, Thank You, is out now. What was the inspiration behind it?

Nick Broadhurst

Thank You came about at a time when I had been away from music for a few years and really started to feel the impact of not doing what I loved most. As an artist, I think it’s quite common to have a level of resistance to releasing your art into the world. Maybe it’s fear of judgement, but at that time I became determined to write an album that told my story up until that point.

Songs like Take Me Down are about overcoming that resistance, Little Lover was a visualisation of the love I knew I would (and did) find one day, while other songs range from love songs to anthems about global change. It’s a classic first album where so many ideas melt into one body of work, whereas my new work starting with my first single Inner Love is a confident statement about who I am and what I want to say.

The Nick Broadhurst Show is a top-rated global podcast. How did it come to be?

I had just come through a particularly challenging period in my life and realised I could help many people by just sharing what I have learned. There are so many things that have been very supportive for my physical, emotional and spiritual health, as well as wealth and career, that I wanted to share with listeners in the hope that it may spark something beautiful for them and bring about the change they desired in their lives. Listen now.

We hear you guys are both big fans of Boody's eco-friendly everyday essentials. What are your favourite styles and why?

Bamboo clothing

Melissa: I love it all. The material is so beautiful and feels amazing on my skin. I’m all about comfort when it comes to clothing, so I love apparel tops and leggings as they are super comfy.

Nick: I have to say the long sleeve t-shirt is my favourite. It’s such a beautiful, soft everyday essential that goes with so many things. Love it. Oh, and the undies are epic. So light! A man can always do with more air down there ;)

How important is our sustainability value to both of you in your everyday lives?

Melissa Ambrosini & Nick Broadhurst

Melissa: Our intention is to leave this earth in the best shape we possibly can for future generations. So we are constantly thinking of ways we can make an impact and living as sustainably as we possibly can (in all areas of our life) is at the forefront of our minds.

Nick: I am pretty fanatical about it and always trying to be better each day with the way we consume. One thing I am very passionate about is plastics. I’m that person who is always picking up rubbish as it just drives me nuts to see our beautiful host being trashed! Switching to natural and sustainable materials is such an important step and Boody does such a great job of educating and spreading the word.

What are your plans for the future? Anything exciting on the horizon?

Melissa Ambrosini & Nick Broadhurst

Melissa: Oh yeah, so many exciting things. More books, events, tours, podcasts, social media posts, a TV Show, impact, service, support, love, joy, laughter and way more ;)

Nick: Ditto what Melissa said. We have some big things on the horizon both together and individually. A co-authored book set for release September 2020, TV Show, a new online platform aimed at redistributing wealth into the hands of consciously-minded people so they can do great things in the world, and of course more music, music videos and touring.

An Open Letter on Mother’s Day

A letter to the women who gave me life and the daughters I birthed into this world. All having an impact and shaping me into the woman I am right now; the mother, the daughter and the granddaughter. My daughters Millie bobby & Lakey Boh, words can't describe the way I feel about you both and the unconditional love that fills my heart knowing you are mine. One of my biggest dreams growing up was to be a mum; to fall in love, have a family and live a happy, healthy, well balanced life. I feel so blessed that my dream is now a reality. Falling pregnant with you both brought me so much joy and excitement. To experience life dancing inside my womb was magic and birthing you was one of the most amazing moments of my life. I thank my lucky stars you girls chose me to be your mum. I promise to be there for you and help guide you through life, but allow you to find your own path.  I will teach you and encourage you both to live life to its fullest, dream big, stand strong for your beliefs, show kindness and love. Love life, love hard and love yourself. As girls who will grow into women, you may come across challenges, you may have your heart broken, you may question yourself, you may find yourself lost. Just know that I am here and you are capable of anything. My girls, I want you to know that You are beautiful You are smart You are worthy You are kind You are loved You are like no other  You are you And that's truly all you need to be. My world lies with you. Forever your biggest cheerleader. I love you with every part of me. Love your mummy My mum,Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you've done and continue to do for me. Only now as a mum myself I truely understand. All the sleepless nights, the cooking to ensure we ate well, the cleaning and never ending laundry, personal taxi driver, unconditional love and the worrying that comes with the role. I feel so blessed to have you and our family. You worked so hard to give myself and my brother so much growing up and continue to give as I have my own family. I appreciate you, your giving nature and willingness to help when needed. From minding my girls, picking up groceries, cooking for us or giving a helping hand around the house. Now a Nonna to my girls, I thank you for your guidance. Millie adores you and enjoys her days with you. Nonna being one of her first words it was evident you had a big impression on her early on. Millie and Lakey are so lucky to have you and I'm so happy I get to watch your relationship with them.  You areMy inspiration. My mentor. My friend . I love you To my grandma and Ma to my daughters,We have always just clicked; our love for arts and crafts, our love for a good chat, our love for outdoors and the ocean and our love for family. I've always felt special being your first grandchild and Pa's princess. I have so many good memories growing up at your house, outside playing with Ben (dog) or swimming in the pool. It was my second home and I loved it. You inspire me in many ways, You yourself, a mum of 6, it blows my mind. What a super woman you are. And now a grandma to 15 and a Ma to 2, such a big achievement. You should be so proud. You are a woman of routine, rain hail or shine. In the early hours of the morning you swim in the rock pool with your community of friends and fellow locals. I love this so much and enjoy telling others what a routine to have. What a way to feel alive within the ocean. Pure bliss. I'm so proud of you this last year after the passing of your loving husband, my pa.  You are so loved by everyone around you and know I'm always here for you. I love you deeply  Mother Nature,It seemed fit to include you in this letter as I have so much to thank you for. I am so blessed to have grown up and currently still live in a beautiful area called the Sutherland Shire. It is such an amazing area to live, grow up and watch my girls grow up in. After becoming a mother for the very first time, I was introduced to a natural way of living. Choosing plants over chemicals, choosing to become aware of ingredients and do research into the products my family use. Choosing safer natural alternatives where possible. Choosing health, wellness and happiness. Choosing to share my journey and build my community. Choosing to make a difference. The last 2.5yrs I have empowered myself and given my daughters a better start to life knowing I'm reducing their toxic exposure. I am connecting with like minded people and small businesses. It has been an eye opener and I am forever grateful.  LoveLara Lara wears our Shaper Crop Bra and Classic Bikini.
